DEFINITION (1): Buddhism is a religion created by Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha) 2.500 years ago in India. It has about 470 million followers and is considered one of the world’s largest religions. Historically, it has dominated mainly in Eastern and Southeastern Asia, but its influence is also growing in the West.
