DEFINITION (1): Cluster analysis is a technique that determines the distances of one object from another, based on the combined values, the multidimensional vector of their measured characteristics. Using a matrix for distance measurements, cluster analysis finds groups of objects that look more alike than others in other groups (Weatherall et al., 2009).
