DEFINITION (1): A cartel is an organization created by a formal agreement between a group of producers of products or services to regulate supply and prices. In other words, the cartel is an association of some otherwise independent companies or countries that act collectively, as if they were just one producer and thus can set prices for the goods they produce and the services they offer, without competition (Ross, 1992).

DEFINITION (2): A cartel is a group of independent market members whose goal is to improve their profits or market position by reducing competition with each other. These financial cartels are usually trade unions of the same trade and therefore rival alliances. States that pursue economic interests can also form cartels (Koole, 1996).

DEFINITION (1): Millennials, also known as generation Y, represent the demographic group that follows generation X and predates generation Z. Researchers and the popular media use the early 1980’s as the starting point for this generations and the mid 1990’s and early 2000’s as the end of their birthdays. Millennials are also referred to as “echo-boomers” because of the big wave of births between 1980 and 1990 and because millennials are the children of baby boomers. Their characteristics vary depending on the birthplace and the individual, but generally this generation is marked by their upbringing in the information age and by their comfort in using digital technologies and social media (Ng et al., 2010).

DEFINITION (2): Millennials are the generation of people born between 1980 and the 1990’s. Their population is 71 million. They are also called generation Y, because of the generation X that proceeds. Due to the fact that the kids born during that time had constant access to technology, during their youth, they have asked many employers to upgrade the hiring process, so that they incorporate the updated technologies. DEFINITION (1): Occupational prestige is a way for sociologists to describe the relevant positions in the human social class. It refers to the consensual nature of estimating a job position based on the belief of its value. The term occupational prestige is independent from the particular person covering a job. Sociologists have recognized prestige rankings for more than 700 occupations, based on the results from a series of national surveys. They created a scale with 0 being the lowest score and 100 the highest, and then ranking the professions based on the survey results (Hauser and Warren, 1997).

DEFINITION (2): Occupational prestige refers to the public perception of the social position of a person based on his/ hers job position, despite his/ hers personal characteristics. The careers that attract the highest occupational prestige might change over time, depending on external events. An important element in the occupational prestige research is the method used to rank the careers (Inkeles and Rossi, 1956).
